The Arthur D. Little Company invented an absolute filter that detected and eliminated radioactive particles from the air. After being declassified in 1950, the Arthur D. Little Company and Carrier Corporation incorporated Cambridge Filter. The Cambridge Filter plant was initially located in Syracuse, New York. In 1962, Cambridge Filter moved their plant to Liverpool, New York, where they occupied a 178,000 square foot building that rested on 11 acres of land. In 1991, Cambridge Filter was purchased by the Farr Company and production was moved to Mississippi.
